Russia wants to change balance in region, says Georgian minister
Russia appears to have placed the S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in Abkhazia with an aim to change balance of forces in the region, said Georgia’s State Minister for Reintegration Affairs, Teimuraz Yakobashvili, as Rosbalt agency quoted him as saying.
Teimuraz Yakobashvili said that the S-300’s placement in Abkhazia comes as Russia’s violation of all those agreements that exist, “Given the specificity of these weapons, it is inadequate to event theoretical danger that comes from Georgia,” minister said.
Teimuraz Yakobashvili added that S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems are “the long range weapons, and this makes [them] think that that step was taken in order to change the balance of forces in the region.”
