$83 million in aid to be sent to Georgia by U.S.
The United States will donate to Georgia $83 million, Georgian First Public Television reported. Rosbalt agency added that this donation is the last tranche of $1 billion in aid which Washington has been directing to Georgia after the August 2008 war.
The donation is to be directed to Georgia for restoration of municipal infrastructure damaged in August of 2008 and for development of living conditions for war-affected people.
“This is the last part of relief efforts from the United States. It will be directed to those people who mostly faced damage, who can’t return to their homes over last 20 years, and to those who failed to benefit from the economical growth that was shown in the country over last five years,” told media US Ambassador to Georgia John Bass.
