Police clash with refugees in Tbilisi
Action of protest held by refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Tbilisi resulted in a clash with Police and detention of the demonstrators, vesti.ru reported.
A group of refugees held an action at Georgian President’s residence demanding that Saakashvili provide them with free dwellings.
Over 700 refugee families who used to live in vacant houses in Tbilisi are now homeless being evicted from their dwellings by the ruling officials. The homeless are offered homes in villages, yet they are unwilling to move there. Opposition People’s Party leader Alexander Shalamberidze is reported to be among the detained people.
