Iran’s Bushehr plant to start up August 21
Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant built with Russia’s assistance is set for launch on August 21, Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency said in a statement on Friday, ITAR-TASS reports.
Sergei Kiriyenko, head of the Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, and Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko are expected to attend the startup ceremony.
The Bushehr plant will be powered by Russian uranium. Spent fuel from its reactors will be shipped back to Russia.
