Nabucco consortium tables gas supply from Iran
European energy companies have shelved a plan to source gas from Iran for the Nabucco gas pipeline, which is to link the Caspian states and the Europe bypassing Russia, and said that they would cut Iran as the third part of the route.
In line with previous statements on Iran, the Nabucco consortium said that feeder lines into the natural gas pipeline would run to the Turkish-Georgian and Turkish-Iraqi borders and these issues are on agenda, while in the light of political concerns over Iran, the plans to supply gas from Iran were tabled.
The consortium said that two-feeder routing plan offers Nabucco access to supplies from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Iraq.
