US officials say can impose sanctions on Turkey
US officials have held talks with Turkey over sanctions on Iran, and warned that Turkish companies that continue dealing and trading with Iran are at risk to meet economical sanctions, Turkish media reported.
The warning was made by the US Department of State and Ministry of Finance officials who traveled to Ankara, and came as Turkey said it would support Turkish companies making sales to Tehran despite unilateral US sanctions that restrict trade.
American officials said that the Turkish energy companies that support the Iranian nuclear project can be put on the blacklist first of all.
Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici said that the turnover between Turkey and Iran will reach $20 billion this year, while it was $5,5 billion last year.
