Media detect signs that Kim Jong Il on trip to China
North Korean leader Kim Jong Il traveled Thursday to China by train with his youngest son, foreign media reported citing a South Korean government official.
The visit’s goal is still unknown.
"Signs have been detected that Kim Jong Il visited China early Thursday morning. We are still trying to grasp his exact destination and the purpose of the visit,” Los Angeles times quoted a government official, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to discuss the matter. "It’s unclear whether he has arrived or still on the move,” the official said.
China’s Foreign Ministry hasn’t yet commented Chairman Kim’s visit.
