Georgian students will have national dance classes
Since this academic year Georgian students will have national dance classes, country’s President Mikheil Saakashvili told teachers at the meeting that took place Thursday in mountain resort of Bazaleti.
President Saakashvili said that “he and the minister of education of Georgia have made a decision to include national dance classes [in the training plan] as these classes are very expensive at special schools” and many parents can’t pay it. That is why “the national dance classes were included into the training program to make it available for everyone.”
“Everyone should be able to perform the national dance at least at own wedding. We will have a generation which will know dances and traditions,” Saakashvili is quoted as saying.
He also said that there are additional innovations for schools. Among them, biological, physical and chemical laboratories; teachers will pass qualification examinations, which are “a stimulus for salary,” as described Saakashvili.
