Azerbaijan makes another gross blunder, says President Sargsyan
Azerbaijan is making another mistake introducing into the UN General Assembly the Resolution on Karabakh, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan said in his remarks delivered on a working trip to Nagorno Karabakh, a spokesperson to the State Administration said.
“Acceptance or rejection of the Resolution which is to be introduced into the UN General Assembly, in all likelihood, on September 9, will influence neither political, nor the economical life of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, and won’t influence their security either,” President Sargsyan said attending School 11 in Stepanakert.
President stressed that the Resolution will probably be supported by dozens of nations and said that these can be nations that always say of their solidarity with Azerbaijan, and, first of all, these are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
President expressed confidence that nations who back the peaceful settlement to the Karabakh conflict will vote against the Resolution.
“At least, they will hold their hand, as they are well aware of that approval of such resolution can’t have a positive impact on the negotiations,” he said.
“I think that many understand that Azerbaijan is making another gross blunder, and we should use this gross blunder to reach our goals. Obviously, we will take steps, and these steps will bring us closer to our aim,” said President.
President Serzh Sargsyan arrived in Nagorno Karabakh on August 28 to pay a working visit. On August 29 President Sargsyan and NKR President Bako Sahakian attended several schools, colleges and cultural educational centers in Stepanakert.
