S. Mikheev: Kosovo and Karabakh conflicts are similar
“I think Abkhazia’s and South Ossetia’s independence is for a long time. And not only Russia’s position is important here. The most important thing is that the Georgian authorities failed to find a variant for Abkhazia’s and Ossetia’s reintegration to Georgia,” Vice President of the Center for Political Technologies Sergey Mikheev told 1news.az agency.
Asked whether he sees a similarity between the Abkhazian and South Ossetian conflict and Kosovo and Karabakh conflicts the political scientist stressed that these conflicts are similar.
“These conflicts are similar, especially as they started almost simultaneously and are connected with the collapse of great powers – USSR and Jugoslavia. Besides, just recognition of Kosovo by the West made possible recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Russia,” expert said in his remarks.
