It’s time to recognize Karabakh, says ARFD
The ARF Dashnakcutyun leaders are planning to take steps against adoption of any anti-Armenian resolutions by the UN General Assembly, Supreme Body representative, Armenian lawmaker Armen Roustamian announced.
“We have instructed all the structures of the Hay Dat (The Armenian Court) to start lobbying to clarify the situation and to prevent [anti-Armenian] resolution’s adoption, as we know that there are debates often separated from the issue’s essence and the forums of such kind aren’t used to detailing the issue and they vote for the certain resolution standing from the political logic, and then feel shame that they had accepted the resolution,” said Roustamian.
This statement came amid the announcement of the Azerbaijani authorities that they are designing a Resolution on Karabakh for the UN GA session in September.
Roustamian said that in response to such steps, Armenia can change format of the Karabakh talks.
“It’s necessary to initiate other processes in parallel with talks within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group,” said politician. He pointed that it’s time for recognition of independence of Nagorno Karabakh by Armenia and for signing a law with the second Armenian state that contained an acceptation of being a guarantor of security and independence of Nagorno Karabakh. In addition, Armenia should conclude a political and military alliance with Nagorno Karabakh, he stressed.
“These are mutual issues. We should take steps which will allow leading the processes in beneficial to us directions,” said the lawmaker.
Besides, the Armenian side must repeatedly remind about Armenian refuges, demand for compensations, settle the region and start up the airport in Stepanakert, he said.
