Obama and Rasmussen to discuss issues related to NATO
US President Barack Obama will meet NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and discuss various issues related to Afghanistan on September 7, the White House has announced.
"As part of the President's ongoing consultations with allies about our global agenda, the two leaders will discuss NATO's role in advancing our shared interests in Europe and beyond, including through the International Security Assistance Force mission in Afghanistan," it said, reports the Indian Express.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says the visit is part of Obama's ongoing consultations with allies. The two leaders are expected to discuss NATO's role in Europe and Afghanistan, as well preparations for a NATO summit in Lisbon, Portugal, in November, the Association Press informs.
