Georgian soldier killed in Afghanistan
A Georgian soldier was killed and another soldier was seriously injured in southern Afghanistan, country’s officials said.
Georgia’s Deputy Defense Minister Nodar Kharshiladze said that the Georgian soldier was killed by a home-made bomb during a military operation against Taliban. This is the first time that Georgia suffers a soldier since joining the NATO-led military mission in Afghanistan.
Georgia has nearly thousand soldiers in Afghanistan, most of them are based in the southern province of Helmand.
The NATO-led force said earlier that two international force soldiers were killed on Sunday in Taliban attack.
