Greece: George Papandreou restructures cabinet
Greece’s Prime Minister George Papandreou has decided to restructure the cabinet created in October, his spokesperson George Petalotis said Tuesday.
Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou retained his post. Dimitris Droutasas is appointed as Foreign Minister (he was a Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece, while PM George Papandreou himself took the office of the Foreign Minister of the country before restructuring the cabinet).
One of the most powerful ministers, Michalis Chrisohoidis, who served as Police Minister, will take the office of the Minister of Economy. Economy Minister Louka Katseli will be moved the Labour portfolio while Labour Minister Andreas Loverdos will go to the Health Ministry.
On the whole, the Greek cabinet will include 48 persons (of these 17 are ministers) while before the restructuring and reshuffle it included 36 offices.
