Lennon killer stays in jail as parole denied
The man who murdered former Beatle John Lennon three decades ago will remain behind bars for at least another two years after being denied parole for a sixth time, Interfax reported citing CNN.
Mark David Chapman, 55, was interviewed by a three-member panel of the parole board via video link and had his request for early release turned down again.
Chapman, who is being detained at Attica Correctional Facility in New York, can next apply in August 2012.
Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, had reiterated her desire to the board that Chapman is kept behind bars. This is because she still considers him a threat to her family.
