Turkey on the eve of referendum
The constitutional referendum campaign was completed yesterday in Turkey. The referendum is due tomorrow, September 12. It was initiated by the Justice and Development ruling party. According to the party, the amendment is aimed at reforming Turkey’s judicial and political systems.
According to analysts, the goal of the constitutional amendment is to deprive the Turkish military of the advantages they enjoyed since Mustafa Kemal’s tenure.
