Ex president Shevardnadze criticizes Saakashvili
“If Mikheil Saakashvili asked my advice then his position and position of Georgian nation and country’s government would be much better than now,” told Asaval-Dasavali paper in his interview ex president of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze.
Eduard Shevardnadze, 82, said that Georgia’s nation is displeased with Saakashvili’s policy, Georgia Online reported.
Meanwhile, President Saakashvili said he doesn’t need Shevardnadze’s advices. Recently, he has repeatedly criticized Shevardnadze’s policy in public and accused him of “leading Georgia to catastrophe.”
“Shevardnadze has been often speaking and moralizing but somehow he doesn’t remember about the harmful policy during his presidency,” said President Saakashvili. He added that actually “over past 7 years corruption has been eradicated in Georgia and the country reached success in the economical development, and the high praise of the international organisations show this.”
