Armenia should claim occupied Armenian territories
Leader of the Union of the Constitutional Law Hyke Baboukhanian said that Armenia should respond to Azerbaijan, which is set to introduce a resolution into the UN General Assembly, by raising the issues of own territories and in particular, Armenia should raise the issue of occupied territories of Nagorno Karabakh, among them Shaumian, Gardrut, Martakert, and the issue of total displacement of Armenians from Nakhichevan (Naxcivan).
“Nearly 500 Armenian refuges haven’t yet received any compensation, and Armenia as a state representing the legislative rights of genocide-affected persons should introduce a range of resolutions claiming punishment and compensations,” said Baboukhanian.
Politician said that Armenian authorities should say that Nakhichevan, which is now part of modern Azerbaijan, closes the only link between Armenia and Iran. “Armenia should raise this issue using language of ultimatum in reference to Russia or Turkey which act as guarantors of security of Nakhichevan, or Armenia should resort to military solution to the issue,” he said.
