British hotels can now blacklist bad guests
Up to 10,000 British hotels will start blacklisting guests via an on-line database called GuestScan. Everything from breaking things in rooms, and stealing towels and bathrobe, and making noise will be added to the database.
The idea came to British businessman Neil Campbell. He came up with the idea after one of hotel owners suffered from a visitor. Depending on what they did, offenders can stay on the list from two to four years; however, the Under the Data Protection Act allows them to appeal.
The GuestScan is the first database of its kind to be launched in the UK. It ensures that those guests who showed bad behavior can meet rejections in booking the rooms.
