Azerbaijan: students protest in front of Aliev’s office
Students of the suspended International University of Azerbaijan (IUA) held Wednesday a rally in front of the building of presidential administration and ministerial cabinet, local media reported.
Students gathered to protest high tuition fees at private universities and colleges which they had to enter after their IAU was suspended. Among other claims was that they couldn’t enter some other universities.
The International University of Azerbaijan was suspended on July 8 after the investigative group of experts discovered that there were numerous violations of normative documents and other even more serious faults. Taking into consideration these facts, the Licensing Commission of Azerbaijan made a decision to suspend the university and not renew the license of the Ministry of Education.
