Raquel Dink hopes for changes in Turkey
Mrs. Raquel Dink, the widow of renowned Armenian activist, journalist, editor-in-chief of the Agos newspaper Hrant Dink, declared that the European Court of Human Rights resolution, according to which Turkey is to pay compensation of 133 thousand euros to Dink’s family, including judicial expenses, is a birthday present to Hrant Dink. She said she is planning to donate the money to charity, to 3 Armenian institutions working in Turkey, according to Ermenihaber.am news agency.
Mrs. Raquel Dink expressed the hope that the court resolution will affect Turkey’s legal and political spheres, and Turkey will abandon its policy of showing the guilty as innocent and the innocent as guilty.
Raquel Dink, Dink family lawyer Fethiye Cetin, and Agos newspaper’s employees laid red roses and candles at the building in front of which Hrant Dink was killed in January 2007.
