“Aliev continues making empty-headed statements”
“I hope that there are clever persons in close circle of Sultan of Azerbaijan able to advise him to refrain from making stupid things and making own people look silly. Though, Aliev appears doesn’t want even listen to someone and continues making empty-headed statements,” said secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov when was asked by Aysor’s reporter to comment Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliev’s statements made in Turkey.
In particular, President Aliev of Azerbaijan during a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Turkey said that Karabakh “is a historical territory of Azerbaijan and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan must be restored.” He also said that “the Armenians were continuously destroying Azerbaijani historical and religious monuments.”
“Aliev’s saying about historical accessory raises a laugh. I have already advised a traveler-lover Aliev to attend Forum Square in Rome and learn the map of the ancient world, where he would certainly see, which territories were mapped as Armenia.
“If he doesn’t know then I’ll remind that 2,000 years passed after the map was drawn and a far-fetched nation “Azerbaijan” was established. Karabakh can belong to Azerbaijan as much as it would be true to say that Constantinople was built by Turks. So, that says it all,” said politician.
Referring to the issue of territorial integrity, Eduard Sharmazanov said that Aliev continues with his "stupid stubbornness" shooting the bull about the territorial integrity.
“He’d better learn the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group containing an indication that the separate principle can’t be dominant in relation to other principles. I’d be better if Aliev carefully learned the statement before making any statements. And I am not even pointing at the fact that Nagorno Karabakh wasn’t part of independent Azerbaijan any single hour or day. It’s at least absurdly to declare the territorial integrity and keep in view Artsakh as it became an independent from the USSR state earlier than Azerbaijan did,” said Sharmazanov.
He said is surprised at Aliev’s saying that Armenians had destroyed cultural monuments of Azerbaijan. “Aliev successfully adopted lessons of a Nazi ideologist Dr Goebbels – If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
“And Aliev in a bid to steer clear of charges of destroying of thousand-year Armenian historical monuments is trying to attack first. One example is enough – the Azerbaijani vandals have destroyed ancient Armenian Chackqars (Cross Stones) in Old Juga (Old Djugha). And this example shows both political and cultural level of Azerbaijan. This reminds the times when Rome was hijacked by vandals who having no idea about civilization implemented the very same actions. Azerbaijan did it in 21st century,” stressed Sharmazanov.
