Hugo Chavez says won't accept U.S. Ambassador
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has insisted that he won't accept the U.S. government's nominee for ambassador after U.S. President Barack Obama’s criticism of Venezuela on drugs and Obama’s statement that Venezuela as a country fails in counter-drug efforts. Hugo Chavez responded to this describing that criticism as "a new attack by the Yankee Empire."
In a televised speech, Chavez protested Larry Palmer as a nominee to be U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela. He said: "We wouldn't allow him to enter Venezuelan territory.”
"If they decide to throw out our ambassador, let them throw him out. That's their problem. It isn't our problem," Chavez said.
