Dmitry Medvedev congratulates Serzh Sargsyan on Independence Day
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev has sent a congratulatory message to his Armenian counterpart President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the Day of Independence of Armenia.
“During my recent travel to Armenia, I once again satisfied myself that the century-long traditions of Armenia-Russia friendship and good-neighborhood keep on strengthening. Our citizens are proud of glorious pages of our common history, joint successes and victories,” said President Medvedev in his message. He pointed at the Hill of Honor, a cemetery of the Russian soldiers, which was restored by Armenia’s government in a joint project with Russia, as an example of friendly relations between the two countries.
“We thank the Armenian nation for caring attitude towards memory of our soldiers,” said Medvedev.
“On the strong basis of trust and cooperation, Armenia and Russia build strategic partnership, hold a political dialogue, and more effectively coordinate their steps on the world and regional stages. We pushed towards important decisions on joint economical projects and those in innovation and humanitarian spheres,” said Russian President. “I believe that the implementation of those agreements will contribute to growth of bilateral relations aimed at the benefit of the two nations, and for the convenience of peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” he added.
