Portugal supports OSCE Minsk Group’s efforts
Portugal’s Ambassador to Armenia Pedro Nuno Bartolo (residence in Moscow) handed over his credentials to Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan Thursday, a spokesperson to Armenian State Presidential Administration said.
Armenian President congratulated Ambassador Bartolo on appointment and wished him a successful diplomatic mission in Armenia. Ambassador Bartolo on behalf of Portuguese authorities greeted President Sargsyan and said that they are looking forward to host Armenian President in Lisbon at the NATO summit.
During the meeting, parties talked about economical and trade relations between the two countries, and touched upon the sphere of tourism and the legislative sector. They also said of the activities of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. President Sargsyan said that the Foundation is a bridge between Armenia and Portugal and added that Armenia always highly appreciated Foundation’s humanitarian and cultural campaigns.
The two officials talked about the process of settlement to the Karabakh conflict. Referring to the issue, Ambassador Bartolo said that Portuguese authorities support efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and negotiations under its mediation.
