“NKR conflict cannot be resolved without parties’ readiness”
Armenia cannot demand international recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic independence until the negotiation process goes on, Director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told reporters.
“Armenia’s recognition of Karabakh does not imply recognition of NKR by U.S., Russia, France, and other states,” speaker said in his remarks.
According to Iskandaryan, the process should be only kept in its current format - OSCE Minsk Group.
“We should not demand resolution of the conflict from Minsk Group as the conflict cannot be resolved without parties’ readiness. Minsk Group is merely a mediator, it is not empowered to settle the conflict,” expert stressed.
