H. Sahakyan: Azerbaijan’s approaches are blameworthy
“The Armenian party welcomed withdrawal of snipers from the front line expressing readiness to support it. The UN Secretary General should take into account several factors in that issue, and first of all Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, especially that country’s policy of denialism against establishment of peace,” member of Armenian parliament and RPA parliamentary faction Hovhannes Sahakyan told an aysor.am correspondent commenting upon UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s statement on withdrawal of snipers from the front line and Azerbaijan’s rejection of that proposal.
According to the parliamentarian, by rejecting the proposal to withdraw its snipers from the front line Azerbaijan refuses to relieve tension on the contact line and further aggravates the situation which is instable as it is.
“Azerbaijan refuses to withdraw its snipers since they serve for purposefully hitting Armenian servicemen guarding the borders as well as Armenian farmers in NKR and Tavush border areas.
Obviously, the international community also understands the reason of Azerbaijan’s refusal, and I think it will draw proper conclusions. Azerbaijan’s approaches are blameworthy, and I am convinced that in the future they will be outlined in international community’s statements and approaches,” Sahakyan stated.
