Heavy rainfalls in Germany and Poland
Heavy rains in the eastern German states of Saxony and Brandenburg caused officials to warn of potential floods along rivers including the Elbe and the Spree, which flows through Berlin.
Eight locations in Saxony, which borders the Czech Republic and Poland, registered the highest level of alarm for flooding, Bloomberg reported.
It’s for the second time this year that Poland met heavy rains which damaged its western regions. River Order burst its banks and flooded streets. People are surrounding their homes with sandbags. Weather forecasters said that in the near hours strong winds and rains are expected.
