Moscow’s administration decrees to announce its resignation
Interim acting Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin has signed an order to dismiss the city administration due to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s decision to fire Yury Luzhkov.
“Moscow’s administration decrees to declare its resignation,” said in the document according to RIA Novosti.
The document also contains information that city administration will act until new cabinet will be formed.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on Tuesday firing Moscow's long-time mayor Yury Luzhkov. In the statement posted on the Kremlin website, Medvedev said he had lost confidence in Luzhkov. Yury Luzhkov has been mayor of Russia's capital for nearly 20 years.
