China marks Republic Day
Today China is marking the day of establishment of the People’s Republic of China.
The People’s Republic of China was proclaimed on October 1, 1949 after the victory of the Communist Party of China in the civil war. China had 4 Constitutions which were adopted in 1954, 1975, 1978, and 1982. The current Constitution of China was adopted on December 4, 1982. According to the Constitution, the “working class” comprised of unions of villagers and workers rules China.
This day is traditionally solemnly marked in China. Capital city Beijing is decorated with flower compositions and green branches. China hosts concerts, exhibitions and fireworks on this day.
Festive events go on five days, Chinese population is on national holiday almost for a week. The festive week is called Golden Week.
