Matvey Ganapolsky: Azerbaijan will not unbridle war
Azerbaijan will not unbridle a war, Russian political analyst Matvey Ganapolsky told reporters.
According to the expert, Azerbaijan’s armed attack on Nagorno Karabakh would be senseless. It is senseless just from viewpoint of Azerbaijan, since, according to the analyst, any war is meanwhile a defeat. All countries have their own economic interests, and it would be wrong to evade them. Thus, according to Ganapolsky, it is not realistic that Azerbaijan will unbridle a war disregarding this.
“Don’t hinder Ilham Aliyev to convince his society that he is a successful and resolute political figure. Why do you, Armenians, interfere in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs? There is a mighty political figure, Ilham Aliyev, he explains to his society that anyone who will bother him will be punished. Why do you hinder him; he has developed a strategy for his people…”
Ganapolsky also reminds that an attack will be also followed by international community’s harsh response, and Azerbaijan cannot disregard it.
“Russia entered Georgia, and you saw what happened then,” Ganapolsky said stressing that Europe and U.S. do not support instigation of conflicts beside highly explosive Iran. Besides, Azerbaijan cannot disregard economic losses it will sustain in case of armed attack.
“3 square meters territory is not worthy of losing 3 trillion sum, and I think Ilham Aliyev is a very clever politician, and one of his best traits is that he is very good at money counting,” analyst stated.
