Karapetyan:there won’t be left any monument in Turkey in 15 years
In 1912 there have been more than 2000 functioning churches in Turkey. Today only traces of the10% of those churches have been left and they can be counted on fingers now, Samvel Karapetyan, the specialist in monuments said today on the meeting with the journalists and noticed that the number of the Armenian churches is decreasing.
According to S. Karapetyan in 10, 15 years not a single monument will be left to study. "Only the traces of some Armenian churches are left today. Those which have preserved can be counted on fingers, but the worst is that the mites from the Armenian churches in Turkey that are left are disappearing year by year."
The specialist of the monuments believes that "to record those mites they should be taken by photo for having them on paper at least."
"We should solve the problem of destruction of monuments by the help of the courts at the international tribunes against Turkey," S. Karapetyan says.
