Students: Azerbaijan destroys Armenian cultural heritage
Students of Yerevan State University express concern over situation with the Armenian historic monuments in the territory of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic and NKR territories occupied by Azerbaijan.
The students sent a letter to the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev. Letter’s copy was sent to OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut.
“Azerbaijan’s chauvinistic authorities spare no effort to wipe off all Armenian traces in occupied Armenian territories. Isn’t the civilized world interested in Armenian cultural heritage which is destroyed by Azerbaijani vandals?” letter said.
The letter mentioned that listening to Azerbaijan’s appeals OSCE is sending a fact-finding mission to NKR to study the “traces of Azerbaijanis.”
“Aren’t you interested in the fate of Armenian cross-stones in Jugha and hundreds of historic-cultural and religious monuments in Shahumyan region?” letter said.
The University students demand from OSCE Chairman-in-Office to send OSCE mission to Nakhichevan and NKR Shahumyan region occupied by Azerbaijan to conduct monitoring and to study facts of destruction of Armenian cultural heritage.
