Vashadze: Saakashvili’s proposal to Aliyev was not emotional
Georgian-Azerbaijani relations are more than strategic partnership, and Georgian President’s proposal on establishing a confederation was not emotional; he merely described the essence of bilateral relations, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze stated today in Yerevan.
The Minister said that the proposal does not imply change of the Constitutions of Georgia and Azerbaijan, the statement merely “describes the visible future of their cooperation.”
Note that Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili presented a proposal on establishment of a confederation between Georgia and Azerbaijan during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart in July. Official Baku has not responded to the proposal so far.
