Georgian Foreign Minister does not find Javakhk on map
I don’t know what Javakhk is; I don’t see Javakhk region on the map, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told a joint press conference with Edward Nalbandyan today in Yerevan in response to a question of when Georgia will ratify the European Convention on regional languages which would resolve educational and language problems in Javakhk.
According to Vashadze, 103 Armenian schools were reconstructed in Georgia and provided with computers with state funds. He assured that Georgia pays more attention to Armenian schools than to Georgian ones.
The Minister stressed that Armenian is the language of basic school education, graduates from Samtskhe-Javakhk take main exams in Armenian.
