Armenian refugees submit complaint to OSCE Minsk Group
Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan sent a complaint letter to OSCE Minsk Group expressing discontent and distrust to OSCE field assessment mission, Hranush Kharatyan, consultant in the organizing committee of forum of plenipotentiaries of Azerbaijani-Armenians, and Grigory Ayvazyan, Head of “Assembly of Azerbaijani-Armenians” NGO, told a news conference.
According to Mrs. Kharatyan, Armenian refugees made sure that Armenia’s authorities as well as international organizations disregard their interests and rights, and now, the only thing they can do is to protect their interests.
“Since 1994, OSCE Minsk Group has never addressed the issue of Armenian refugees while the issue of Azerbaijani refugees has always been on the agenda,” Kharatyan said. “MG mission is unilateral, OSCE never met with Armenian refugees.”
In return, Grigory Ayvazyan stated that there is no notion “Azerbaijani refugee,” these people are combatants.
“There is no notion “territories adjoining Nagorno Karabakh.” The Armenian army did not go beyond Nagorno Karabakh boundaries. And Azerbaijani Turks and Kurds who used to live in that territory took part in military operations and blockade of NKR peaceful population. In fact, they are a militant party and not peaceful population,” Ayvazyan said.
According to the speaker, the issue of Armenians of Azerbaijan should not be considered together with the problem of refugees, since these people became refugees as a result of the genocidal policy of Azerbaijani authorities still before the war of Nagorno Karabakh.
