Francophonie summit addresses Nagorno Karabakh issue
The 13th Francophonie summit was held between October 23 and 24 in Montreux, Switzerland, MFA press office reported.
Armenia’s delegation led by Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan participated in the summit.
Francophonie summit final resolution for the first time included a provision addressing the Nagorno Karabakh problem. The provision said: “We reaffirm our unreserved support for the efforts of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs towards peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We call on all parties of conflict to refrain from use of force or threat of the use of force which would endanger the future of the peaceful process. We call on the parties to keep the talks on the basis of all principles proposed by the Minsk Group co-chairs to lay foundations for balanced and long-term settlement of the conflict.”
