Yushchenko may be sued for arms sale
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office filed a criminal case on the fact of arms sale to Georgia. Ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko can be one of the suspects in the case.
According to Delo newspaper, Prosecutor General’s Office filed a series of criminal cases on arms supply to Georgia, head of investigation commission Valery Konovalyuk said.
The investigation commission supposes Ukraine sold arms to Georgia amounting to over USD 2bn while only USD 200m entered the state budget.
The parliamentary commission on investigation of supplies of Ukrainian arms to Georgia was established in 2008 autumn after Russia accused Ukraine of supplying arms to Georgia.
