Armenia, Iran sign program for educational cooperation
During Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s official visit to Iran between October 25 and 26, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan and Iranian Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Kamran Daneshjoo signed a Program for Educational, Scientific, Technological Cooperation between governments of Armenia and Iran for 2010-2013.
According to the program, the parties will exchange information on Armenian and Iranian educational systems. They will assist establishment of direct ties between universities of the two countries, will exchange programs of higher, vocational and postuniversity education.
The program envisages establishment of scientific research centers in Armenia and Iran to study the language, literature, historic-cultural, spiritual heritage and civilization of the two countries.
A chair of Islamic Studies is set to be founded in Yerevan State University and Armenology chair at some university of Iran. The parties will encourage mutual visits of scientists and lecturers, will assist research projects of mutual interest.
