More than 30,000 Chinese babies named “world exhibition”
More than 30,000 Chinese babies born over the past year have been named Shibo – “world exhibition,” Xinhua New Agency said citing the Chinese center for registration of numbers of citizens’ personal certificates, according to RIA-Novosti.
Parents name their babies Shibo in honor of the EXPO 2010 world exhibition hosted by Shanghai.
The total number of babies named “world exhibition” reaches 31,240. 30,397 out of them are boys and 1,023 girls. Most of babies named Shibo (6,247) were born in September 2010.
