Food prices up 1.4 percent in October 2010 in Armenia
1.0 percent inflation was registered in Armenia’s consumer market in October 2010 compared to September 2010 which results from 1.4 percent increase in food prices (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes). In the period under review, prices for non-food products went up 0.9 percent, tariffs of services 0.3 percent.
In January-October 2010 average monthly growth of consumer prices amounted to 0.6 percent marking 0.3 percent increase compared to an analogous period of the previous year (0.3 percent). In October 2010 consumer price index amounted to 109.1 percent compared to October 2009, including food 112.5 percent, non-food products 106.6 percent, tariffs of services 104.9 percent, and in January-October 2010 compared to January-October 2009 - 107.9, 107.6, 110.6 and 107.3 percents, respectively.
According to the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, all across Armenia, consumer prices went up from 0.2 to 1.3 percent in October 2010 compared to September 2010. Inflation in Yerevan was 1.3 percent.
