Atmosphere of impunity aggravates in Turkey
Turkish authorities that constantly talk about democracy and human rights, about their achievements in these fields, prove the opposite with their actions, thus we conclude that it is purely a farce, member of Armenian parliament Hovhannes Sahakyan told Aysor.am commenting upon Turkey’s plan to release the killer of Agos newspaper's editor-in-chief Hrant Dink.
“If Turkey indeed releases this criminal, it will once again prove Turkish authorities welcome acts of violence. It is noteworthy that Turkey’s actions do not differ from actions of its younger brother Azerbaijan. They follow the same policy: Azerbaijani officer kills sleeping Armenian officer during NATO training courses and Turkish criminal kills Armenian journalist,” parliamentarian said.
According to him, Turkey’s authorities failed to understand that in order to normalize their relations with Armenia they should take concrete steps and should not permit killings of Armenians – be they editors, businessmen or builders.
“However, Turkey plays a double game by demonstrating to the world actions towards formation of atmosphere of confidence, however, acting absolutely differently within the country. Turkey supports part of society Garegin Nzhdeh called scums,” Sahakyan concluded.
