Alizade: U.S. not to change its pro-Armenian position
“America’s two-party system never changes radically no matter who holds the power – Democrats or Republicans. American leadership’s pro-Armenian position dates from 1988, and both Democrats and Republicans have retained it up to the present,” Azerbaijani political scientist Zardusht Alizade told the Zerkalo paper.
Commenting upon appointment of Ambassador of U.S. to Azerbaijan, particularly, Matthew Bryza’s candidature, the expert said that appointment is delayed due to domestic problems in U.S. as well as to “Obama administration’s foreign policy, its discontent with something.”
“They seek to get something from Azerbaijan related not to democracy and human rights but to state interests of U.S. They fail to get it and express their discontent by not appointing ambassador.”
