Torture traces revealed on Saribekyan’s dead body
A criminal case on deliberate killing with special cruelty has been filed on the death of Armenian citizen Manvel Saribekyan taken prisoner by Azerbaijani party.
“On November 4, 2010 Azerbaijani party gave Manvel Saribekyan’s dead body to Armenia. According to Azerbaijan’s official report, Saribekyan died on October 5, 2010 after being throttled.
The dead body preliminary examination testified that it was not properly kept in Azerbaijan as it was decayed. Dead body forensic medical examination revealed torture traces which testifies that M. Saribekyan was tortured, underwent inhumane treatment.
Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia ordered the Police to file a criminal case on Article 104, Part 2, Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (deliberate killing with special cruelty). The investigation is carried out by the General Investigation Department of Republic of Armenia Police,” Prosecutor General’s Office press service reported.
