Harutyunyan: Results of Azerbaijan’s elections predictable
The results of Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections were predictable, however, unlike previous parliamentary elections with 65 percent turnout, according to preliminary data, this time maximum 50 percent turnout was registered in the elections, Director of “Noravank” Scientific Educational Foundation, Gagik Harutyunyan told reporters in Yerevan adding that voter turnout fell 15 percent.
“There is already information that around 70 members of the ruling party, including Aliyev’s wife, have won seats in parliament,” expert said.
According to him, taking into consideration Azerbaijan’s way of holding elections we can suppose that real voter turnout was no more than 30-35 percent.”
