Serzh Sargsyan calls for being combat ready

President Serzh Sargsyan addressing servicemen upon the completion of NKR Defense Army exercise called on them to be combat ready, President’s press office reports.

Serzh Sargsyan stated that if ever the time comes, we will be able not to repeat the events of 1992-94 but will finally resolve the problem.

“We should be always alert, we should be always ready. Our military exercise that was close to combat situation should be a warning for others and a norm for us,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

The President stated that during the exercise officers should show their knowledge, soldiers their abilities, commanders should constantly perfect their skills.

“This is our way, we have no other way. As Supreme Commander, as Head of State, I promise that you will not have any need. We will purchase modern equipment just like we have got today, we will have everything to save the dearest thing we have – life of our soldiers and officers,” President said.

“We have never wanted war, however, then we were just forced to defend our homeland. If the time comes, if we are again forced, this time our blow must be destructive and final,” President concluded.
