The role of Russian Armenians in developing Artsakh
On 16 November President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan together with President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan within the frameworks of the “Hayastan” All-Armenian fund’s 2010 Telethon met representatives of the Russian philanthropists and entrepreneurs of Armenian origin in Moscow, the Central Information Department of the Office of the Artsakh republic president.
In his speech President Sahakyan rated high the role our compatriots in Russia had played in developing Karabagh, underlining that now too he expected their active participation in solving a very important issue Artsakh faces – the problem of drinking water. According to Bako Sahakyan this issue has a crucial political and socioeconomic significance and providing solution to it would greatly benefit to the development and strengthening of the Artsakh Republic.
State, public and political figures of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Armenian Diaspora, officials from the two Armenian states partook at the meeting.
