Armenia will never cast doubt on Armenian Genocide
“Armenia and Syria are in strained regions. Both states are affected by any shock in the Middle East. While every state seeks to live in peace and consent with its neighbors,” NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said addressing the plenary session of Syrian parliament, NA press office reports.
H. Abrahamyan said that from these considerations Armenia in the person of President Serzh Sargsyan expressed willingness to launch rapprochement with Turkey.
H. Abrahamyan reminded signing the Armenian-Turkish protocols in Zurich, conditions put forward by Turkey later.
“The protocols were signed with high mediation, thus, Turkey put forward preconditions not only to Armenia but also to all sides that were present at the signing ceremony,” NA Speaker said.
In his words, Turkey should show political will to continue the rapprochement process, to renounce preconditions and ratify the protocols.
Abrahamyan stressed that the Armenian-Turkish normalization process does not imply that Armenia casts doubt on the Armenian Genocide.
“Armenia will never cast doubt on the Armenian Genocide. Moreover, we will maintain efforts to achieve historical justice, international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.”
