Armenia, Syria attach importance to economic cooperation
On November 24, NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan’s delegation met with Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Otari in Damascus.
Syrian Prime Minister described Armenian-Syrian relations as exclusive noting that Armenian-Syrian friendship has deep historical roots. He highly assessed Armenian community’s role in Syria’s development. Muhammad Naji al-Otari stressed importance of NA Speaker’s visit to Syria. He stated that cooperation between legislative and executive bodies is an important precondition for country’s progress. Syrian Prime Minister presented priorities and achievements of Syria’s economic development.
NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan thanked for a warm welcome. Addressing economic cooperation he noted that there is unused potential in economic sector.
“I am optimistic about the prospects for mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation; I am convinced that with current friendly relations, with joint efforts we will be able to further strengthen our cooperation,” NA press office quoted the Speaker as saying.
