Dushanbe hosts meeting of SCO Council of Heads of Government
Meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government in narrow format kicked off in Shanghai.
Tajikistan's Prime Minister Akil Akilov addressing opening of the meeting expressed hope that the meeting will help the organization resolve the problems raised at the SCO summit held in June in Tashkent, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to Akilov, the narrow format of the meeting enables to “exchange thoughts over organization’s topical issues.”
Tajikistan’s Prime Minister gave the floor to Karim Masimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan which currently presides in SCO.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization gathers together Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan are invited to SCO as observers.
